App purpose and data use
nowslate is a web app for building shared display boards.
The app helps users turn an existing tablet, TV, monitor, or shared screen into a live board that shows useful household, family, team, or workplace information.
What the app does
- Create browser-based display boards for homes, teams, offices, lobbies, and other shared spaces.
- Reuse tablets, TVs, monitors, and other screens to show photos, calendars, weather, announcements, schedules, notes, and dashboards.
- Manage scenes and schedules so each screen shows the right information throughout the day.
How nowslate uses Google Sign-In and Google data
- Google Sign-In is used to let users create or access a nowslate account. nowslate uses the Google account identifier, email address, and basic profile information only for authentication, account ownership, and support.
- Google Photos permissions are used only when a user connects Google Photos, so nowslate can show selected albums or library content on the user's display boards.
- Google Calendar permissions are used only when a user connects Google Calendar, so nowslate can show selected calendars, upcoming events, reminders, and schedules on display boards.
- nowslate does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it except as needed to provide user-enabled display features, maintain security, comply with law, or provide support the user requests.
- Users can disconnect Google access through their Google account permissions. Disconnecting access may stop related display features from updating.
Public policy details are available in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Everything your shared screen should keep current.
Connect the content people already care about, then let each board update without manual exports or one-off slide decks.

Frequently asked questions
Practical answers for setting up shared displays at home, at work, and during OAuth review.
What can I use as a nowslate display?
Any device with a modern browser can work, including older tablets, small desktop displays, wall-mounted screens, or TVs connected to a browser-capable device.
Is nowslate only for workplaces?
No. nowslate is built for shared spaces in general: homes, kitchens, family rooms, offices, lobbies, team areas, and other places where a visible screen is useful.
Can I use family photos?
Yes. nowslate is designed to show photo collections from connected libraries, including services such as Google Photos when those integrations are enabled for your account.
Can it show calendars?
Yes. Shared calendars are a core use case, so a board can show upcoming family events, team schedules, reminders, or location-specific plans.
What widgets are supported?
The app is designed around reusable modules such as photos, calendars, weather, clocks, notes, announcements, schedules, and dashboard-style content.
Can boards change throughout the day?
Yes. Scenes and schedules let a display show the right mix of widgets for a morning routine, workday board, evening household plan, or rotating information screen.
Where are your privacy policy and terms?
You can read the public Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. These pages are available for users and OAuth provider review.
How does nowslate use Google data?
When you connect a Google service, nowslate uses authorized data only to provide the display features you choose, such as showing selected photos or calendar events on your boards.
How do I contact support?
